 ABOUT ALICE

After graduating from Performing Arts Studio Scotland with a Higher National Diploma in Costume for Stage and Screen, I went on to study a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Practice: Costume Construction at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London, for which I received first-class honours. This was where I explored my love of live performance while learning valuable skills in pattern drafting, garment construction and costume fitting

By working with British companies such as the Dundee Rep Theatre, Royal National Theatre and Royal Opera House I have gained a strong technical skillset including traditional and contemporary tailoring as well as millinery, which is an area of costume I thoroughly enjoy. I have a keen knowledge of chronological costume history and I enjoy problem solving and pattern drafting unusual silhouettes using my understanding of period clothing

Experience with dyeing and distressing has allowed me to gain an excellent understanding of health and safety in a dye room as well as appreciation for professional protocol when in the workroom. Having used my dual citizenship to venture into the US costume industry, my experience now includes seasonal work with Gulfshore Playhouse, Norwegian Cruise Line and two summers at Tuacahn Amphitheater
